Optimism ? Pessimism ? How about a change ?

As I already explained in a previous article, the innate aspects of our personality can be modified by our behavior; it is about training our brain.

In the same logic, we now know that our genes can evolve.

I have just been reading an article. I loved it as it clearly expresses what I feel for a long time.
It describes the attitudes of optimistic and pessimistic people.
That I would qualify more as people

Having a tendency to being optimistic or to being pessimistic

I admit I belong to the optimistic category. I can have moments when I think all is possible. And so, like it is explained in the article, I am often considered as being

“naïve, to be way off the mark”

 I could add:

“unrealistic”

. The optimistic way to be can also provoke agressivity. 
Yes, the optimistic people can attack the pessimistic. This, without willing to do so as it is only their way to be.

Optimistic people work with potentialities: the difficulties in a situation are not considered as blockages, but as punctual obstacles that will be overcome.
It is like a hurdle race: each hurdle is needed for the race to be so the athlete works with them without denying them; with the eye and the will focused on the finish line: this is how the optimistic works.

Even if it means pretending. Pretending is a natural game; for example:
“ok, I can’t get this appointment that I need, so let’s pretend it’s done and I can move on to the next step”

Fatalism is not part of the vocabulary. Will never be. This is a notion that simply is not acceptable, as it is considered as being simplistic: in the name of who ? Or what?

The optimistic is convinced that there is a solution and as such, will look for a path that they will find. This path can well be a new direction that will be thought as constructive; a new energy will come out of it;

Because there is space for possibilities in their mind, the optimistic among us will be open to receive any options: meeting new people, grabbing new ideas …

For sure they are realistic people and well grounded. I would say that the best description is their natural capacity to consider life with an 

“helicopter view”

they get the big picture: the beginning, the end, what is gravitating around and the essential chosen aim.

In the article, the journalist points out two strengths:

the high consciousness of the life being ephemeral and precious.

This natural richness doesn’t stop feeling blue at times. Life still is what it is for any of us, with its difficulties and happy moments.

It is not the events that differ, but the way to receive and treat them .

These positive attitudes with no doubt help bouncing back and find a solution that can sometimes be radical, nonetheless clear and inescapable.

I am quite happy to be a member of this group. This positive thinking, that may seem a bit mad and often not understood, incredibly helps in personal life and particularly in my professional activity.

As says the psychoanalyst Anne-Marie Filliozat:

“A positive state of mind is possible for everybody”

 Yes ! yes ! yes !
(Here I am again with my positive attitude ?)

For people who mainly have a natural tendency for a pessimistic posture, the first essential point is to be 

willing for a change.

 Then, flows the capacity to modify some thoughts and so some behaviours.

You can start with relaxation exercises that allow your body to calm down and accept a change. 

Once more: body and mind work together. Always.

Relaxation and positive visualisation open wide doors to new options.

This is when another work can begin: the one about memory.
We all have positive and negative memories. It is about working on them. Both are the two sides of the same integrated memory. Understanding the emotional mechanisms of the memorisation that are frozen inside us, inside our body, allow us to revisit them, to make a shift and voluntarily give them another place
We are talking about movement, change.

Move your thoughts !

Move your body !

And begin to offer yourself new perspectives !
