Expatriates' Wednesdays: Spaces of possibles that we can uncover !

I have to share with you this beautiful testimony !

"Expatriation has been for me, as a young mother, a moment of freedom, an opportunity not to be" like the others ! "No pressure to return to work like my friends did, not obliged to give the bottle to my baby etc. .. I could breastfeed, carry my kid in a baby carrier with one of those long scarfs,..., I had the freedom to be a mom the way I wished, always there for my children. And if some people wouldn't understand the benefit for my children, I could always get out the typical: "I can not work because I have no working permit" which did put an end to any discussion ! Super easy ... Another positive point is that it allowed me to know what I really wanted to do, and I was "forced" through different "mutations" (in the two meanings of the word) to define my dream job and create it ! And now, I'm free ! "M .

This is not the first time I hear such a testimony that addresses three points:

The possibility of going throug a life phase that probably would not have been possible in one's homecountry;  to be a mom at home, for example for M.

and these "mutations" in both senses of the term as Miss M. notes it so precisely
Mutations are geographical and cause ruptures (abandonment and creation) of environments and their bunch of rehabilitation and social reorganizations; they also allow to question, rethink, adjust, take time. . . it is about the professional field in the above testimony

Yes she's been obliged, not always easy to make a choice to maintain a logic when one find oneself here and there in the world
But who else than her was obliged ?

I suspect her quote to state that despite more or less easy phases directed by different moves, the maturation process that she had and led to her current professional project seems to suit her perfectly !

Just feel the energy that radiates from. . .

"(...) Define my ideal job and create it ! And now, I'm free! "

Woohoo! ! ! It's better than winning the lottery, don't you think ! ! !

Expatriation, in some ways, is continuous training !

Do you also feel that you can uncover new beauties romr your expat life ?
