necessity of exterior and interior silence


Silence

We live for the vast majority of us in the middle of daily noisy sollicitations
Have you ever noticed how quickly our brain integrates these white noises and the way it puts them directly in the drawer "not helpful, ignore" so we "do not hear them anymore"
But, supress all of a sudden the sound source and you will feel a "Ahhhhh" of relief !
Pollution, audio or any other is never healthy when it becomes too much
Our minds, like our bodies need quiet moments;
the exterior calm is the first step, the next step is to afford an inner silence
What is an inner silence ?
That is to face oneself, meet oneself, without social demand, justification nor jugement
Create a space and time, where and when we become the one who writes what is happening within us, the one who chooses the point of thinking that we welcome in ourself
Not accepting what comes from outside anymore, not having to position ourselves, to listen, to take into account what is happening outside of ourself: The absolute and total freedom to think
Scary prospect ?
Can freedom be scary ?
Silence can be frighthening; Silence is rejected
Affording this inner freedom, as I noted in the article where I discussed the benefits of meditation and yoga, conscious breathing as well is not reserved to wise people or religious
Not at all,  we can all access these exercises that free the mind and therefore the body

Here is an example of exercise
You move somewhere where you are physically comfortable and where you know you can be at rest, eliminate all potential sources of noise: telephone, alarm clock, ringing tones, music etc. ..
You can have your eyes open, if they do not look for something specific, or have them half-closed
Creating space within you is about "gently pushing to the exit" any thought that passes by.
You can imagine yourself actually doing it, as if you were taking the unwanted thought by the hand and gently pushing it through a door called "exit": you do not ignore the thought, you just say politely that you are not interested in dealing with it right here, right now
Push every single thought to the exit door , and repeatedly to the same thought if necessary, calmly, without frustration, with no jugement  (for once!)
Let's talk about the benefits of inner silence:
Connect with oneself,
Help us in decision making
Calming anxiety (fear, insecurity)
Soothe a hate feeling
Reassure oneself, managing to say " It's OK, I have time"

These mental exercises are similar to physical exercises, the more we repeat them, the more they fall into place easily and fast when you recall them, and they are more effective as well

These moments are not wasted time but rather time gained, because after them, our mind is cleansed of all the unnecessary interference encountered throughout the day that we accumulate without realising;
our spirit is freed from the whirlwind of thoughts that prevent us from clearly perceiving a situation

Occasionally, it is good to clean our mental !
