Dream v. Reality ?

I feel like sharing with you a Brazilian saying that a client sent me yesterday:

"Se nao for pra me fazer voar bem alto, nem me faça tirar os pés do chão"

I think we can literally translate by:

"If it is not for me to fly very high, nothing will make me leave the feet off the ground"

One can draw several translations, as always;

Here is what comes to me:

Nothing will make me let go of what I have but one dream / project that will bring me much more than what I already have.

Or, with a broader conception:

If love / fulfillment does not bring me to a lot more happiness, I will not let go of what I have now.

What would your personal translation be ?
