The expatriate's Wednesday: How about you ?

I was reading an article the other day about the adaptation of expatriate families in their new host country.

Several points were raised, all interesting to make an adjustment check

Yet one particularly caught my attention
More for what it did not say rather than for what it was proposing

Here it is

Do you view your overseas assignment as an opportunity for personal growth rather than an unpleasant day ?

After much thoughts, discussions, readings, one can easily say that the first 6 month are not the easiest

I will cut this proposal into two. it carries so much in itself

here is The first question that I think is essential

Is this expatriation an opening to an individual growth for you ?

Whether personal or professional

YES?         NO?

It might be interesting to pursue thinking about that

The choice is yours


and also


If this is not the case, if the expatriation does not offer you individual growth, if it is an unpleasant path

What are you doing with that ? What do you do for yourself  ?

The choice is yours
